The Wearable Art Collective is Promoting African Designers in New York With This Competition

After previous successful fashion showcases in Accra and London and a show-stopping collaboration with Emerge NYFW in New York February 2020.

The Wearable Art Collective is delighted to be once again supporting Emerge NYFW with African designers to participate in NYFW September 2020.

The Wearable Art Collective consists of a rich pool of talented Artisans emerging from the African continent and around the world.

Through fashion design, jewelry, sculpture and textiles, The Wearable Art Collective challenges predictable philosophies of a singular African aesthetic and identity, and reflects the combination of African art and design without making the usual peculiarities between “professional” and “artisan.”

Emerging and established designers are hereby invited to seize this opportunity to showcase their creativity and designs used for promoting the Rich African cultural value in a special fashion show in New York. This opportunity will provide great exposure to a diverse audience of fashion, style, industry enthusiasts, influencers, and media specialists.

This opportunity will provide the winning African designer with international exposure amongst a diverse audience within fashion, and build lasting connections to industry enthusiasts, influencers, and media specialists.
